Welcome to our second grade classroom website.  You will find updated information on Mrs. Minas' (pronounced like the subtraction symbol) class throughout the year on our classroom projects, curriculum, and engagements.  The teachers have been working hard over the summer to plan projects that we will experience this year and I am really excited to start our first project on community in September.  

I am a new teacher joining the Queen Anne Elementary Team.  I feel honored to be joining this community, a place where teachers, families and students want to be! I am also excited to be teaming with a dear graduate school friend of mine, Ciara Leckie.

I received my Masters in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Washington in 2004. I have spent seven years teaching in the general and special education classrooms. I find my experience in both settings to be a real advantage to helping all students reach their potential. It is my goal to help my students feel good about themselves as learners and be excited about learning.
